Podocarpus Spicatus or Black Pine is a tall native growing up to 30 m is lowland forests throughout New Zealand. It yields timber that is stable with straw to yellow coloured heartwood with a reddish tinge. Because of this some of our bowls have natural irregularities, holes and bark inclusions which are left to add character and uniqueness. It is used for T & G flooring, interior joinery and furniture.
This bowl would make a great salad or fruit bowl or would look fabulous as an Art piece on your sideboard or table It would also make a great gift for wedding's, birthday's, anniversaries or Christmas.
To clean your Bowl/Platter use warn soapy water to clean making sure you dry thoroughly afterwards. Then lightly oil with a food safe oil such as Coconut or Walnut and wipe dry.
Important: never put bowl/platter in the Microwave, Dishwasher or soak in water
